Description

★The only formally authorized and first published by Márquez
★What I am satisfied with is writing about loneliness. In In Evil Hour, you once again feel this tragic atmosphere, which is the loneliness of power. —Gabriel García Márquez
In Evil Hour is Márquez's breakthrough work and his first award-winning novel. Through a murder case caused by an anonymous post, it depicts the turbulent changes in a small town within two weeks. The work draws directly from social reality, differing from his previous magical style, and instead uses the most refined and concise language to create an absurd, gloomy, and thrilling atmosphere. Márquez's revelation of the mystery and loneliness of power, and his reflection on the root causes of social unrest, still deeply resonate with today's readers.
