About the Author
Liang Shiqiu|1903-1987
Originally named Liang Zhihua, his pen name was Shiqiu. He was a famous Chinese essayist, scholar, literary critic, and translator, and the first authority in China to study Shakespeare. He was well-versed in both Chinese and Western learning, and wrote numerous works, leaving behind more than 20 million words of works in the Chinese literary world.
His representative works include the essay collection "Essays from Yashe", the literary criticism collection "The Art of Swearing", the academic monograph "History of English Literature", and the translation collection "The Complete Works of Shakespeare".
