Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
The nature of "Records of Philosophical Thoughts on Life (Revised Edition)" lies between a dictionary and an abstract. The content is an excerpt of Zhou Guoping's writings, and the form is detailed classification according to themes and keywords like a dictionary. The compilation process is as follows: First, the author reads through all the non-academic writings that have been published and unpublished so far, and extracts sentences or paragraphs that he thinks are more valuable and can exist independently; then, these materials are classified step by step, so that they can be placed in their respective positions as appropriately as possible. What is the use of such a book for readers? The author guesses that in the hands of his old readers, it is more of a dictionary, which can be used to easily retrieve the author's arguments on a certain issue; in the hands of his new readers, it is more of an abstract, and reading it can clearly glimpse the basic features of the author's writings and thoughts. The whole book is divided into four parts, namely: Life Perception, Emotional Experience, Human Nature Observation, and Spiritual Home. They are actually philosophical reflections on life from different angles, so "Records of Philosophical Thoughts on Life" is named "Records of Philosophical Thoughts on Life".
About the Author · · · · · ·
This book was compiled at the request of Shanghai Dictionary Publishing House. Its nature is between a dictionary and an abstract. Its content is an excerpt of my writings, and its form is detailed classification according to themes and keywords like a dictionary. The compilation process is as follows: First, I read through all my non-academic writings that have been published and unpublished so far, and extracted sentences or paragraphs that I think are more valuable and can exist independently; then, I classify these materials step by step, so that they can be placed in their respective positions as appropriately as possible. This is a very careful work, but I think it is not without benefits. It makes me feel as if I have done a detailed review of my thoughts and have a better understanding of them. So, what is the use of such a book for readers? I guess it is like this: for my old readers, it is more of a dictionary, which can easily retrieve my arguments on a certain issue; for my new readers, it is more of an abstract, and reading it can clearly glimpse the basic features of my writings and thoughts. The whole book is divided into four parts, namely: Life Perception, Emotional Experience, Human Nature Observation, and Spiritual Home. They are actually all philosophical reflections on life from different angles, so I named this book "Philosophical Thoughts on Life".
