About the Author
Gibran (1883-1931) was an American-Lebanese Arab poet, writer and painter. He suffered from hardships throughout his life. Most of his works are about "love" and "beauty". He is the main founder of modern Arab novels, art and prose, and one of the pioneers of the new Arab literature in the 20th century. He is known as the "pride of Lebanon" and the "Blake of the 20th century". He is a pioneer of modern Oriental literature alongside Tagore.
Li Weizhong, male, born in 1940, is a professor at Dalian University of Foreign Languages. In 1988, he entered Cairo University in Egypt to study Arabic literature. He has worked as a military translator in Yemen, Sudan, Iraq and other countries. As a senior translator in the field of Arabic literature translation in China, he has translated and published "One Thousand and One Nights", "The Complete Works of Gibran", "The Legend of Antara", etc., and co-translated and published novels such as "The Epic of Common People" and "The Tragedy of the Nile".
