Born in 1890 at 194 Angell Street, Providence.
When he was 3 years old, his father suffered a mental breakdown and was hospitalized, where he died five years later.
When he was 14, his grandfather passed away and his family fell into poverty. He once contemplated committing suicide.
At the age of 18, he suffered a mental breakdown and dropped out of school before graduating.
When she was 29, her mother also became mentally ill and died during surgery two years later.
He married at the age of 34, but his married life was not happy. His wife's hat shop went bankrupt and her health deteriorated. He fell into pain and loneliness and divorced five years later.
He returned to his hometown of Providence in poverty and devoted all his energy to writing. However, until he was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 46, his 60 short stories were ultimately too advanced to bring him fame and fortune. The following year, he died in the shadow of pain and loneliness.
Today, Lovecraft and his Cthulhu Mythos are considered the most influential classical horror fiction system in the 20th century, and have become the source of countless horror movies, games, and literary works.
