Liu Xunyu (1896-1967)
A modern Chinese mathematics educator, mathematician and publisher.
In 1928, he went to study in France and studied mathematics at the University of Paris.
After returning to China in 1930, he taught at Jinan University, Daxia University, Tongji University and Southwest Associated University.
After 1949, he served as the principal of Guiyang Middle School.
In 1950, he was transferred to the People's Education Press as deputy editor-in-chief. He reviewed all mathematics textbooks for primary and secondary schools and personally participated in their compilation.
Liu Xunyu, together with Xia Yizun, Ye Shengtao, Feng Zikai and others, founded youth magazines such as "Middle School Student" and "New Youth", and published many interesting popular science articles on mathematics.
