Bei Dao, whose real name is Zhao Zhenkai, was given the pen name "Bei Dao" by the poet Mang Ke, and is also his most influential pen name. He is a contemporary Chinese poet, one of the representatives of Misty Poetry, and the founder of the folk poetry magazine Today.
He is currently a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has written poetry collections such as "Poems of Bei Dao", "Notes from the Sun City", "Selected Poems of Bei Dao and Gu Cheng", and "Strange Beach", a prose collection "The Book of Failure" and a novel "Waves". His representative poems include "Answer" and "Everything", and his works have been translated into more than 20 languages.
