About the Author
Zhang Wei (nickname: Mantou Master) graduated from the liberal arts base class of Fudan University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese Department of Fudan University and a Master of Journalism degree from the Journalism Department. He is currently the director of the Operation and Technology Center of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee’s official newspaper, Jiefang Daily. He has worked as a sports reporter for 11 years and has covered three Olympic Games, two World Cups and more than 100 world-class events. He later served as the director of the Digital Communication Center of Jiefang Daily Newspaper Group and the director and general manager of the New Media Center of Jiefang Daily.

In his spare time, he manages the WeChat public account "Mantou Shuo", which features "Today in History" and pushes out a short historical story every day.

Currently, the WeChat public account has nearly 200,000 readers who love history. It won the 2017 self-media "Annual Content Breakthrough Award" awarded by Phoenix.com and Yidianzixun.
