Ancient Greek and Roman culture laid the foundation for modern Western civilization, but do we who live in the Eastern world still need to understand the people and events in the West thousands of years ago?
In this book with a lighthearted style and profound and easy-to-understand content, history professors Gregory Aldrett and Alicia Aldrett directly answer this question for us: the shadow cast by ancient Greek and Roman culture is still very long. Whether it is modern society's politics, law, and literature, or physical exercise, daily diet, marriage customs, and even the political turmoil and star chasing in the news, they are actually deeply rooted in the ancient world.
Even if you have no knowledge of ancient history, you can still follow this book to trace back thousands of years of Western civilization, back to ancient Greece and Rome, and see whether their world is familiar or strange...
