"Twilight in Italy" is a representative work of DH Lawrence's prose genre, recording his experience of "wandering" travel from Austria, Germany, Switzerland to Italy from 1912 to 1916. During the whole journey, Lawrence walked most of the time, occasionally took a steamer and a train, and appreciated the beautiful natural scenery along the way for a long time, and came into contact with local residents from all walks of life. He once again strongly felt the destruction of nature and the extinction of human nature by industrial civilization.

David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930), usually written as DH Lawrence, is a 20th-century British writer. He is one of the most important figures in 20th-century English literature and one of the most controversial writers. His major achievements include novels, poems, plays, essays, travel notes and letters. He wrote poems, but mainly wrote novels, a total of 10, the most famous of which are The Rainbow (1915), Women in Love (1921) and Lady Chatterley's Lover (1928).
