Don Quixote is an anti-knight novel published in two parts by Spanish writer Cervantes in 1605 and 1615. It mainly tells the story of a poor country gentleman who is obsessed with reading knight novels and is eager to realize his dream of knight. Because of his enthusiasm, he made a lot of jokes, but no matter how others comforted him, he insisted on his dream of knight until he woke up before his death. The author used the absurd behavior of Don Quixote, an extreme character, to deeply expose the darkness and hardship of the society at that time, satirize the popular knight novels at that time, with a distinct humanistic tendency, showing a strong humanitarian spirit. At the same time, it also tells us that everyone should stick to their ideals, but the establishment and persistence of ideals should be combined with reality. Only by looking at the right direction, not indulging in fantasy, not acting blindly, and paying attention to methods can we truly achieve the realization of our ideals. This still has very important positive significance for us today, and it is worth our thinking and pursuit.
