Oscar Wilde (October 16, 1854 - November 30, 1900) was an Irish writer, poet, playwright, and advocate of the British Aesthetic Art Movement. He created works in various forms in the 1880s and later became one of the most popular playwrights in London in the early 1890s. Today, he is famous for his short poems, the novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and his dramas, but his imprisonment and early death are also topics of concern.
