Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
Caitlin Doughty, a legendary American funeral director, has traveled to more than ten countries and regions including Indonesia, Japan, and Mexico, and personally visited open-air cremations in Colorado, public cemeteries in Indonesia, the Day of the Dead in Mexico, and ashes worship in the Japanese Glass Temple, etc. These funeral cultures not only contain local historical traditions, but also allow us to see more possibilities about funerals.
We have no obligation to stay away from death, nor do we have an obligation to be ashamed of death. To solve this problem, the first thing we need to do is to show up, then attend, and then participate. Death needs to be re-understood and accepted so that we can learn to say goodbye well.
If you have ever lost a loved one, mourned a lost friend, or imagined your own death, then you must read this book!
