About the Author
Acheng, writer, screenwriter, photographer, and cultural project planner.
In 1984, he began to publish his works, and became famous for his novel "Chess King". He also published plays, essays, and reviews. In 1985, he was a writer-in-residence at the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa in the United States. In 1992, he won the Italian NONINO International Literary Award. In May of the same year, he became a writer-in-residence in Venice, Italy. In 1995, he was an artist-in-residence at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In 2000, he became a writer-in-residence in Taipei. In June 2014, he published "Luoshu and Hetu: The Origin of the Form of Civilization", which was selected as the annual book of the Chinese book industry.
In 2005, he served as a judge for the Golden Lion Award at the 62nd Venice Film Festival; in 2006, he produced photo records and documentaries for "Liu Xiaodong's New Work: Domino"; in May 2008, he was invited to teach the master course at the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea; in September 2008, he was the curator of the Chinese Pavilion at the 11th Venice International Architecture Biennale.
