Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
If the subway in your city upgrades its security procedures for safety reasons, will you actively cooperate or passively resist? If a celebrity or KOL you like enthusiastically recommends a product to you, will you place an order immediately or think carefully? If your boss asks and encourages you to work "996" or even "007", will you cooperate or refuse? ......
We live in a noisy, bustling and uncertain world, surrounded by an overflow of information at all times, from the trend of world economic development to the decision-making of personal life. If you lack independent thinking and judgment, you can only accept the opinions peddled by others and the media - they are keen to make you believe that this is "fact", but what they say is often half true and half false. You clearly feel that something is wrong, but it is difficult to find a breakthrough to refute it.
Even if experts say something appealing, it is not necessarily reliable. We need to rely on our own brains, not be hasty, not blindly follow others, and not be swayed by emotions and rumors without factual basis. This book will help us consciously learn and use critical thinking, ask critical questions, think deeply about problems, try to understand the analytical reasoning methods of people whose values run counter to ours, and overcome the influence of prejudice on judgment, so that we can reach more correct and rational conclusions.
When you can calmly face opinions that are completely contrary to yours and make rational judgments instead of forming factions against those who are different; when you are able to organize more solid evidence to support your own views in the face of questions and doubts, instead of just taking the louder the voice, or thinking that others are just looking for trouble and deliberately making things difficult for you; when you can clear the fog in dialogue and debate and identify the other party's logical fallacies and emotional manipulation, the world will become more interesting, open and firm in your eyes.
