"Learning and Life - New Collection of Hu Shi's Selected Works" was selected by Geng Yunzhi, a member of the Academic Division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a researcher at the Institute of Modern History, and Song Guangbo, an associate researcher at the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Hu Shi (1891-1962), a native of Shangzhuang Village, Jixi, Anhui, became one of the leaders of the New Culture Movement for his advocacy of literary and ideological revolution. Hu Shi had a wide range of interests and wrote a large number of works, making groundbreaking contributions in many fields such as literature, philosophy, and history. He served as the Dean of the School of Arts at Peking University, Chinese Ambassador to the United States, President of Peking University, and President of the Academia Sinica.
