Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
★Everyone is alone. I talk to myself freely.★
★I never had a role model. I rebelled in a submissive way.★
This is Duras' last work, published in China for the first time.
A love letter to life.
【Content Introduction】
This book contains the texts dictated or written by Duras during her serious illness in bed from November 20, 1994 to February 29, 1996 (Duras died on March 3, 1996), collected and compiled by her last partner, Yann Andrea.
A diary, a love letter, a book. Oral words, written words, everything is calling for a lover, a real and imaginary lover, a lover who comes from the words, a lover who accompanies her, a lover who is destined to leave her. This is a person's lifelong desire.
People in the past, words said, jokes spoken casually, facing reality, crying. The heavy death is in front of her, despair surges, and the approaching emptiness and loss make people terrified. In this way, Duras' pursuit of the ultimate writing and life came to an end here.

Marguerite Duras (1914-1996)
A wild and unexpected writer, playwright and director, she created more than 50 works and 19 films in her lifetime. The Lover won the 1984 Goncourt Prize and was a global bestseller. She has made outstanding achievements in drama and film, and her film Song of India created a new film language.
Duras was born in Indochina and lived there until she was nineteen. This period of life influenced her entire life and became the source of her writing: the deprivation of her childhood which was the background of her life, a mother who always fought against fate but always failed, a mother who favored her eldest brother, an eldest brother who always asked her for money, a younger brother who was close to her but died young, a dead child... "Living is overwhelming me, and it makes me want to write." She was writing all the time, dissecting her life with writing and getting closer to her own truth through writing.
