Nietzsche, a German philosopher, founder of modern Western philosophy, linguist, poet, composer, and thinker. Born in Saxony, Prussia in 1844, he was the son of a pastor. During his university years, he was deeply influenced by Wagner and Schopenhauer. At the age of 24, he taught at the University of Basel as a professor of classical philosophy. In 1872, he published his debut work, The Birth of Tragedy. In 1879, he resigned from his teaching position and began his 10-year wandering life, and continued to create. He died in 1900 after suffering from mental illness in 1889.
