A writer, artist and illustrator, her work has been exhibited and published in many places around the world, including The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Geography and Traveler. She grew up in Greenland, studied at Exeter College of Art, and now lives on the coast of Cornwall, England, and writes a blog for Newlyn School of Art. She has published many books on exploration, women's history and visual culture, and the Explorer's Notebook, co-authored with her husband Hugh Lewis-Jones, has become a global bestseller. When not exploring the wild and dense forests, Carrie Herbert usually stays in her leaky garage and concentrates on her creation.

Meng Tong is a master's student in the Department of Art History and Theory at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. Her main research areas are Northern Renaissance art and Western modern art. She has won honorary titles such as Beijing Outstanding Graduate. She has published articles such as "Secular Concern and Atmosphere Creation: Altdorfer's Crucifixion of Christ" and translated articles such as "Brotherly Love: The Friendship of Dali and Duchamp".
