"Treasures from Dunhuang (Bodhisattva 1)/Paintings Lost Overseas"
Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
There are two definitions of Buddhist paintings: broad and narrow. Broadly speaking, the Buddha, Bodhisattva, Heavenly King, Vajra and many other types selected in this series of "Treasures of Paintings Lost Overseas" all belong to the category of Buddhist paintings; narrowly speaking, Buddhist paintings can be understood as works that only use Buddha as the subject of the painting. "Treasures of Dunhuang (Bodhisattva 1)" is one of the "Treasures of Paintings Lost Overseas" series. Most of the Bodhisattva images included in this book are taken from the banner body of the banner, and the banner where the image is located is not fully displayed. Since the banner body is generally long and narrow, most of them are painted with a single image, which almost fills the entire banner body. There is also a "Guanyin Bodhisattva Statue" in the book, which is also very impressive, because it is rare to see a portrait that is both a side view and a walking posture.
