Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
The philosophical thought of the Renaissance lies at the junction of medieval tradition and modern times. The germs of problems are complex and diverse, and the solutions are different. Whether there is a complete unity among all kinds of thoughts and whether they contain the basic characteristics of the Renaissance is the theme of Ernst Cassirer's classic work on the history of thought. Cassirer explores the thoughts and actions of Cusa, Leonardo da Vinci, Pomponazzi, Bruno and others, summarizes topics such as freedom and necessity, subject and object, and demonstrates the interdependence of philosophy, art and science in the Renaissance. In addition, Cassirer translated the book "The Layman on the Spirit" for this book.
