Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
Ten strangers of different identities were invited to a mansion on an isolated island off the coast of Devon. When the guests arrived, the host did not show up.
That night, a mysterious voice made accusations, telling everyone the sinful secrets in their hearts. Then, a guest died strangely. The storm isolated the island from the world, and "Ten Little Soldiers" - this old nursery rhyme became a death spell. As predicted in the rhyme, the guests died one after another... After the killing game ended, no one survived!
About the Author · · · · · ·
The undisputed queen of detective novels and one of the greatest writers in the history of detective literature.
Agatha Christie was born Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller on September 15, 1890 at Ashfield House in Torquay, Devon, England. She had almost no formal education, but loved reading, especially the stories of Sherlock Holmes.
During the First World War, Agatha Christie became a volunteer. After the war, she wrote her first detective novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. After many twists and turns, the work was officially published in 1920, which opened Christie's brilliant creative career. In 1926, The Mystery of Roger was published by HarperCollins. This work established Agatha Christie's unshakable position in the field of detective literature. After that, she successively published popular works such as Murder on the Orient Express, The ABC Murders, Death on the Nile, And Then There Were None, and Evil Under the Sun. To this day, these works are still the most precious treasures in the world's detective literature treasure house. The stage play The Mousetrap adapted from her novel has become the most performed play in the world; in terms of film and television adaptations, Murder on the Orient Express won Ingrid Bergman an Oscar, and Death on the Nile has become a classic in the minds of generations.
Agatha Christie's writing career lasted for more than 50 years, and she wrote a total of 80 detective novels. Her works are sold in more than 100 countries and regions around the world, with cumulative sales exceeding 2 billion copies. The mustache detective Poirot and the spinster detective Miss Marple, whom she created, are talked about by readers with great relish. Agatha Christie is the greatest detective novelist after Conan Doyle, and the pioneer and master of the golden age of detective literature. In 1971, the Queen of England awarded Christie the title of Sir in recognition of her immortal contribution.
On January 12, 1976, Agatha Christie died at her home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England, and was buried in the cemetery of St. Mary's Church in Oxfordshire at the age of 85.
