Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese animator, animation director and cartoonist.

In 1988, he directed "My Neighbor Totoro", which won 24 awards including the 43rd Mainichi Film Award Japan Film Award; in 2001, he directed "Spirited Away", which won 9 awards including the 75th Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and the 52nd Berlin International Film Festival Golden Bear Award; in 2012, he was awarded the title of "Cultural Meritorious Person" in Japan; in 2014, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 87th Academy Awards; in 2018, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 44th Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards. His latest work is the animated short film "Polo the Caterpillar", and he is currently working on the animated feature film "How Do You Want to Live?"

Most of Miyazaki's works are themed around peace, nature, and love. They tell the real world in a warm way and encourage people to live with hope. He was the first to elevate Japanese animation to a humanistic level and is an animation master that everyone admires and loves.
