Introduction · · · · · ·
In the 10 essays included in this book, Agamben considers a range of literary and philosophical issues: the relationship between daemons, the self, and various theories of subjectivity; the question of messianic time as illuminated in images and lived experience; parody as a literary paradigm; and the potential of magic to provide ethical guidelines.
The breadth of topics and themes addressed in this book is a testament to the creativity of Agamben’s unique way of thinking and his ongoing focus on the sometimes futile, sometimes fruitful, act of bearing witness.
