Introduction
In 1930 and 1934, Huang Wenbi went to Lop Nur (i.e. Lop Nor) in Xinjiang for investigation twice. Based on the field investigation data, this book has made many original discussions on the changes of Lop Nor and its surrounding waterways, the source of the river, the migration of the Lop Desert, the history of Loulan and the location of its capital, Loulan's position in Sino-Western transportation and its relationship with Eastern and Western cultures.
