○ This version is translated from the 1876 edition (now the only official certified version by the French Library). ○ The opening introduction helps readers gain an overview of Rousseau and this work, thus alleviating the difficulty of getting started with this masterpiece.
○ The addition of 19 additional notes added by Rousseau after the paper was written allows readers to have a more comprehensive understanding of Rousseau's philosophical thinking during the writing process. The extended knowledge also makes this work more three-dimensional.
○ This collection includes Rousseau's eloquent reply to Bonnet, a famous Geneva naturalist, who wrote a letter under the pseudonym Philopolis to oppose "On the Origin and Basis of Inequality Among Men". It is a classic version worth collecting.
○ Due to its academic status and the influence of its content, "On the Origin and Basis of Human Inequality" has become a must-read classic for sociology, law, and ethics majors in major undergraduate colleges in China.
○ This book is called the soul of the French Revolution. It is the introduction to the entire political theory of the famous French Enlightenment thinker and philosopher Rousseau. The Social Contract, a work that laid the foundation for the Western social form, was written based on this book.
○ In the book "On the Origin and Basis of Human Inequality", Rousseau, on the one hand, made use of the anthropological data about savages at that time, and on the other hand, developed dialectical imagination to review the historical process of human transition from the natural state to the social state, providing a foundation for sociological research, legal development research, and ethical research. It is a recognized immortal classic among academic masterpieces and one of the most worthy works to collect for humanities enthusiasts.
