Tony Buzan was born in London in 1942 and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1964 with degrees in psychology, English linguistics, mathematics and general science. He is a world-class writer on the brain and learning, and has published more than 100 monographs and co-authored books. His "Mind Map" series of books has been translated into 35 languages, popular in more than 200 countries, and has sold more than 10 million copies. He is a global public media figure, with more than 1,000 hours of cumulative appearances on British and international television. He has more than 300 million viewers and listeners. In 1991, he co-founded the World Memory Championships with Raymond Keane. He is the founder of the World Brain Olympics and is known as "Mr. Brain of the World".
