Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
★Luo Ping's new collection of short and medium-length novels, a faithful observation and record of more than 20 years of college life
From "Like Morning Dew" to "The Long Goodbye", to "Suanni", and finally to "No Eating After Noon", I wrote slowly and leisurely, neither hurriedly nor slowly, both declaring and keeping silent. This is a series of works focusing on colleges and universities. After working in universities for a full twenty years, the people and things within reach have exuded an unprecedented and incomparable brilliance, which was beyond my expectation. What I also did not foresee was that life and literature are originally the closest distance in the world. What hinders them is not the poverty of imagination, but often the absence of vision and depth.
——Luo Ping
★ Recommended by famous scholars such as Alai, Xu Zechen, and Qiu Huadong
Luo Ping's novels switch freely between romanticism, heroism and realism. They begin with aesthetics and end with the materiality of life, embodying all thoughts about life and time.
——Alai (winner of both the Mao Dun Literature Prize and the Lu Xun Literature Prize)
"Not Eating After Noon" has a delicate, holistic and structural grasp, and uses a microscopic volume to show the humanistic ecology and destiny landscape of three generations of women born in the 1950s, 1970s and 1990s.
——Xu Zechen (winner of both the Mao Dun Literature Prize and the Lu Xun Literature Prize)
Luo Ping is a dazzling novelist. Her series of college stories, which are placed in a relatively broad reference system, are highly recognizable and are expressions of imprisonment and escape, statement and silence. Ultimately, they stay at the level of redemption and forgiveness, and try to extend to the world of fable, allowing us to see Luo Ping's excellent creativity and her tremendous energy in reflecting reality and human hearts.
——Qiu Huadong (Executive Vice President of Lu Xun Academy of Literature)
