Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
As we all know, my country is the country with the richest geographical diversity in the world. Different regions are significantly different due to different natural geographical conditions, and the development paths they choose are also necessarily different. Therefore, it is impossible to generalize China's development experience based on textbook theories and simple data analysis. Only by being down-to-earth and seeking truth from facts and conducting in-depth research and long-term observation in various places can we form theoretical innovations based on practice, obtain truly valuable judgments and conclusions, and thus sort out the real experience of China's development.
"Southern Jiangsu" has always been one of the most economically developed regions in my country. From the "emergence" of township enterprises in the 1980s to the rapid development of the export-oriented economy in Southern Jiangsu since the 21st century, what exactly is the reason that this land has been constantly performing the myth of "low cost" and "high speed" growth in the 40 years of development? This book is divided into two volumes. In the first volume, the author starts with the general theoretical framework of political economy and analyzes the different combination characteristics of the three factors of capital, land, and labor in different development stages of Southern Jiangsu, as well as the institutional arrangements derived from them. It not only explains how Southern Jiangsu was able to achieve rapid industrial development in the 1980s while keeping agriculture from depression and rural areas from decline, but also explains the internal reasons why foreign investment chose Southern Jiangsu in the early 21st century. The second volume focuses on the development and changes of Suzhou Industrial Park, from which we can see the relevant experience of the government's "counter-cyclical" and "cross-cyclical" regulation to promote the development of regional economy in the direction of high level and high quality.
