Pascal Quignard (1948-), a French writer, has made in-depth studies in philosophy, history and art. He began writing in 1966 and has written a large number of novels, reviews and essays. His novel "Every Morning in the World", written in 1991, was adapted into the classic film "Let Sorrow End at Sunrise". In 2000, he won the French Academy Novel Prize for his novel "Roman Balcony". Since 2002, he has published a series of novels "The Last Kingdom", the first of which won the Goncourt Literature Prize.

Translator

Wang Mingrui, PhD in Literature from Nanjing University, lecturer at the School of Foreign Languages ​​of Nanjing Normal University, researches French literature. He is the author of Song of Life: The New Musical Myth of Gignard, and has translated Tears, Music Lesson, Talus: The Runaway Girl, Suicide, etc.
