Yumeko Takei, a Japanese internet-famous picture book writer, used 9 picture books and 23 essays to recall her experience of getting out of "body anxiety" and the shadow of weight loss. The content includes "I feel uncomfortable when I see a slim girl", "Weight loss life", "Is standard weight considered fat?" "Limit fat", "I don't want to lose weight anymore", "The desire to lose weight is innocent", etc. She also listed a practical recovery plan for you who are struggling with the psychological trap of weight loss to correctly understand your body shape - "Twenty Things You Should Do to Cherish Yourself", to help you get rid of "weight loss addiction" - instead of forcing yourself to constantly adapt to the changing "body standard", it is better to eat well, live every moment, and experience the happiness of "normal eating".
"It's Not Your Body's Fault" is not an autobiography of the author who records eating disorders, nor does it tell people how to treat eating disorders, but a picture book that relieves the "psychological pressure of weight loss". The author hopes that the pain and sadness of weight loss she experienced, as well as the process of struggling to break free from the constraints of Japanese society on women's body shapes, can help those who do not understand their own unique beauty, those who pursue the right answers on the road of life, those who have no confidence in themselves, and those who hate themselves no matter what... By building the right body confidence, everyone can welcome the day when they can "completely free themselves from the curse of weight loss and do a good job of affirming themselves."
