About the Book
He perished in reality, yet lives on through poetry and art.
This book is a collection of poems and artworks commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kafka's death, featuring 41 of his drawings and 118 poems. This is both the result of rational curation and a devout tribute to the "literary saint" who, in his short 41 years of life, created 118 immortal masterpieces.
Kafka's life was filled with obstacles and despair, just like every struggling modern individual. Therefore, opening this book is not only embarking on a literary journey alternating between inspiration and loss, but also finding a Kafkaesque understanding and resonance in a life of confinement.
About the Author
Franz Kafka (1883—1924)
Austrian German novelist, master of Western modernist literature. Born in Prague during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he worked as an insurance clerk and wrote in his spare time. He excelled at using symbolism to depict the loneliness and oppression of individuals in modern society, and his stark and mysterious literary style gave rise to the independent literary term "Kafkaesque." His representative works include The Trial, The Castle, and The Metamorphosis.
