Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
If your salary is reduced by 50% and then increased by 50%, will you still get the same salary as before? How credible are the various popular science articles sent by elders? We are used to speaking with data, but if the data itself is lying, how can we tell?
The information on the Internet is complex and filled with all kinds of falsehoods and fallacies. They often use numbers, language and logic to achieve deceptive purposes, misleading and blinding you unconsciously. For this reason, Dr. Daniel Levitin, a master of cognitive psychology, provides a powerful thinking training tool to teach you how to quickly identify various traps in the information age and avoid falling into their traps.
In the face of information bombardment, to stay awake, we need to cultivate our own critical thinking, skillfully apply scientific tools such as Bayes' theorem, check the rationality of information and the reliability of the source, expose the fallacies hidden in it, and clarify the truth of the information.
This is a book written for smart people, and for you who desire to be rational.
