Pessoa's prose is fast-paced, instantly arresting, full of disturbing hints, lingering, often startling, like touching a vibrating string, elusive, long-lasting, like poetry... He is unmatched. - The New York Review of Books
Pessoa is an amazing Portuguese poet who surpasses all of Borges in his fantasy writing. --Harold Bloom
【Content Introduction】
Fernando Pessoa, a national treasure of Portugal, wrote more than 100 diary-style essays under different pseudonyms over 20 years, which were collected and compiled into this book. Each pseudonym is a side of Pessoa's personality, showing us the lonely and magnificent thought universe of a generation of masters.
The Book of Uneasy is based on the edited version by the famous Pessoa scholar Jerónimo Pizarro, and faithfully restores the stage characteristics of Pessoa's creation and the life journey of this literary giant. It writes about the various feelings of modern people, unprecedentedly showing the loneliness and resolute beauty of human nature, and resonates with us with its incomparable poetry and philosophy.
