About the Author

Kishimi Ichiro

Born in Kyoto in 1956. After completing the doctoral course at the Department of Literature at Kyoto University, he dropped out (majoring in the history of Western philosophy). He has written "The Courage to Be Disliked" and "The Courage to Be Happy" (both co-authored with Fumitake Koga, published by Diamond Sha), "Stop Praising" and "No Blame, No Praise, No Command" (published by Nikkei BP), "Life Is Hard, But We Must Live" (published by Kodansha), "The Courage to Live in the Present" (published by NHK Publishing), "The Philosophy of Unrest" (published by Shodensha), "The Courage to Be Angry" (published by Kawaide Shobo Shinsha), and "From Despair to Hope" (published by Yamato Shobo). His translations include Alfred Adler's "Lectures on Individual Psychology" and "The Psychology of the Meaning of Life" (published by arte), Plato's "Timaeus/Critias" (published by Shirasawasha), etc.
