The Complete Works of Lu Yao: Life includes three novellas: Life, Yellow Leaves Falling in the Autumn Wind, and You Can't Imagine It. Life is a novella by Lu Yao, published in 1982. It is set against the backdrop of urban and rural life in the northern Shaanxi Plateau during the reform period, and tells the story of Gao Jialin, a high school graduate, returning to the land, leaving the land, and then returning to the land. "Yellow Leaves Falling in the Autumn Wind" is a novella written by Lu Yao, a famous contemporary Chinese writer. The work was published in the 1980s and is one of Lu Yao's early works. It won the first National Excellent Novella Award. Lu Yao (1949-1992), formerly known as Wang Weiguo, was born on December 3, 1949 in a poor peasant family in Qingjian County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. When he was 7 years old, he was adopted by his uncle in the rural area of Yanchuan County because of family difficulties. He studied in Yanchuan County Middle School and returned to his hometown to farm in 1969. During this period, he did many temporary jobs and taught in a rural primary school for one year. In 1973, he entered the Chinese Department of Yan'an University.
