Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
"I", Cecil, had been living a ridiculous life with my bachelor father Raymond, but he suddenly fell in love with the decent Anna and wanted to marry her. She would wear her mask of confidence, elegance and wisdom to belittle and tame me, and prevent me from living the despicable and shameless life I wanted. So I was happy to play a joke on her: If my father reconciled with his ex-girlfriend, would the mature and strong Anna be broken?
"Bonjour, Sorrow" is Sagan's debut work and also her masterpiece. It has been translated into more than 20 languages and is a bestseller around the world. Sagan uses intuitive, accurate and clear words to tell the story of a girl's doubts and temptations about the adult world, as well as the tragedy after the temptation goes too far.

The first French book I ever bought was Bonjour, Sorrow. I was just beginning to learn French when Sagan, my contemporary, published his novel in Paris, which frustrated me greatly.

Francoise Sagan
Françoise Sagan (1935-2004)
A talented French female writer, a synonym of youth for a generation. With a beautiful appearance, a sensitive heart and a talent for avoiding the important, she likes writing, horse racing, car racing, drinking, making friends in the entertainment and political circles, and letting herself be entangled in lawsuits.
At the age of 18, she won the French Critics Award for her novel "Hello, Sadness". In her lifetime, she published 20 novels, 11 plays, several short stories and essays, and also participated in the creation of films and songs.
At the age of 63, she wrote her own eulogy: "In 1954, she made her debut with a slim novel, Hello, Sadness, which became a world scandal. Her life and her works were as cheerful and frivolous, and her disappearance became a scandal that belonged only to her."
