About the Author

Pushkin (1799-1837)

A 19th century Russian poet, novelist, and playwright, he is recognized as the founder of modern Russian literature and is known as the "Father of Russian Literature". In his not-too-long creative career, he left us a large amount of literary heritage including poetry, novels, dramas, literary criticism, and historical works, among which his lyric poems are the most loved and praised by later generations.
