About the Author
Feng Erkang was born in Yizheng, Jiangsu in 1934. He studied in Beijing for primary and secondary school and graduated from the Department of History of Nankai University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. He is an honorary professor of Nankai University and the founding president of the Chinese Society of Social History. He teaches ancient Chinese history and studies Qing history, Chinese social history, general history of clans, history of Catholicism in the early Qing Dynasty, and historical materials. His major works include "Biography of Yongzheng", "Clans and Ancestral Halls in Ancient China", "Modern Turn of Chinese Family since the 18th Century", "Qing History Historical Materials", "Research on Qing Dynasty Biographical Materials", "Introduction to Chinese Social History", "Research on Chinese Social History", "New Collection - Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong Emperors and Catholicism in China", "Collected Works of Feng Erkang" (10 volumes), etc. He is the editor-in-chief and the main author of "The Evolution of Chinese Social Structure".
