Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
"A Brief Interpretation of Zhouyi" is Mr. Yu Qiuyu's new masterpiece on ancient classics, and is also a popular reading of Zhouyi for contemporary people. Zhouyi is called "the first of all classics and the source of the great way". It is the starting point of Chinese cultural thinking and the classic respected by Confucianism and Taoism. The heavenly way of thinking and dialectical thinking pioneered by Zhouyi have not only shaped the cognitive mode of the Chinese people, but have also long become the common cultural heritage of mankind.
"A Simple Interpretation of Zhouyi" uses a simple and free narrative to lead readers to tour the representative texts in Zhouyi, and interpret and refine Zhouyi's cognitive methods, thinking methods, sense of crisis, personality expectations, etc. with modern concepts. What is the main purpose of Zhouyi? What cognitive methods and survival philosophy are hidden in the hexagrams and lines? How should the Xici, which is of great significance to Zhouyi, be interpreted? How did the sages of the past dynasties, such as Confucius, Zhu Xi, and Wang Fuzhi, understand Zhouyi? Yu Qiuyu uses prose and calligraphy as a stick to take you to climb the distant and mysterious mountain of Zhouyi and appreciate the different classical scenery.
In recent years, Mr. Yu Qiuyu has concentrated his efforts on tackling difficult ancient texts in Chinese traditional culture, such as "Tao Te Ching", "I Ching", "Diamond Sutra", etc. On the one hand, he conducts academic research, and on the other hand, he is committed to presenting ancient classics to contemporary readers in an easy-to-understand way, which makes his writings a significant cultural foundation project.
