The Tang Poetry Appreciation Dictionary is the first domestic literary appreciation dictionary. Its pioneering writing style that integrates literary appreciation and reference books has become the inherent model of Chinese literary appreciation dictionaries. The first edition of the Tang Poetry Appreciation Dictionary was published in 1983 and is the first in the series of literary appreciation dictionaries. The new edition is based on the second edition of the book. The layout, format, font, font size, and cover of the book are redesigned. It is planned to add woodcut prints and calligraphy works that match the content to the text, and the original small five-point font of the text is enlarged to five points to make the layout more pleasing to the eye. The level and taste of the book are comprehensively improved to meet the needs of readers at different levels of cultural consumption.
The Dictionary of Tang Poetry Appreciation contains more than 1,100 poems by more than 190 Tang Dynasty poets, with appreciation articles written by classical literature experts such as Xiao Difei, Cheng Qianfan, Ma Maoyuan, Zhou Ruchang, Zhou Zhenfu, and Huo Songlin. The collection of Tang poetry covers a wide range of works, and poems from various artistic schools are included, which comprehensively displays the colorful artistic style of Tang poetry. The book has about 1.9 million words. It is also equipped with a variety of appendices such as a chronological table of Tang Dynasty poets, a bibliography of Tang poetry, and poetic styles and rhythms. It is the first choice for literature lovers.
