Description

Introduction · · · · · ·
An unhappy mother born in the 1960s came to a foreign country alone and resumed her long-lost cohabitation life with her expectant daughter who settled there. The mother who was let down by the times and human nature, and the daughter who wanted to escape from her mother's mountainous love but fell into the whirlpool, the mountains between mother and daughter, the mountains between the times, and the mountains between cultures stood between them. The secrets, soft but tough things in the hearts of the two generations of women were dissected layer by layer, and they reconciled silently in the confrontation of life, like ice melting in the light, and the subtle emotions flowing under the ice gave birth to huge moving feelings.

This book cleverly uses dual perspectives to describe the birth process and physical and mental transformation of two generations of mother and daughter. The description from the daughter's perspective is particularly moving, with cultural mediation at sunrise, sexual warfare at sunset, and even ordinary life in silence, hearing thunder and seeing Nanshan.

——Mao Jian (writer, film critic)

As a man, the mother-daughter relationship is the most difficult thing for me to understand. However, this novel makes me believe that I understand it. Li Ting uses calm narration and clever layout to move two mountains towards each other. The most touching embrace does not require really opening your arms.

——Zheng Zhi (writer, screenwriter)

One body, two heartbeats.

From the moment life is conceived, a bond grows between mother and daughter that cannot be severed throughout life.

What never changes between them is the care they have for each other but they would rather fight with harsh words, and the love they have for each other but they cannot express it in words.

Amid the inevitable confrontations, quarrels, complaints, and mutual harm, how long will it take for mother and daughter to truly understand each other?

The daughter completed the small task of growing up by saying goodbye to her mother again and again.

After gracefully withdrawing again and again, the mother fulfilled her mission of raising her daughter.

Only when we become mothers can we truly understand mothers.

All the mothers in this world are inconspicuous but strong hills.

I hope that all those who have shortcomings can gain some understanding and be touched after reading this book.
