【Content Introduction】
This book contains eight complete and clear historical lectures by Professor Ge Zhaoguang. The book is permeated with a broad vision and objective attitude towards Chinese history and culture, and can be divided into four parts: the first part is one article, which talks about the idea of global history starting from China; the second part is three articles, which talk about some macro views on China, culture and academics; the two articles in the third part are a specific introduction to Confucianism and Zen history; and the last two articles in the fourth part are experiments in observing history through images.
Professor Ge Zhaoguang entered the academic world in the early 1980s, and has been teaching and lecturing as his daily routine for more than 40 years. He gives his all in every speech, using the so-called "lion fighting a rabbit" method to write an outline, point out key points, and even add tidbits. When the speech is heard, he hopes that it will have a slight echo, so that readers can perceive some problem awareness and thinking directions that can be used as reference.
These lecture notes are concise and insightful, yet retain a plain and clear spoken tone, making the transmission of ideas smoother and more natural.
