A history of the Three Kingdoms that is both academic and interesting
The History of Shu Han: Using "Political Talk" to Solve the Chaos of the Three Kingdoms
★Content Introduction
This book takes the rise and fall of the Shu Han regime during the Three Kingdoms period as the main line, and activates that period of history with fluent writing. In a vivid historical process, the significance of those people and events is highlighted, and in a work of period history, the historical pursuit of "understanding the changes of the past and present" is echoed. This book is both academic and readable. It makes a thorough discussion on the theme of destiny, legitimacy and political rise and fall, and also puts forward unique insights on some controversial issues, such as the authenticity of the belt edict, the gains and losses of the Longzhong Plan, the light and dark struggles of the Battle of Xiangyang, the reasons for the defeat of the Battle of Yiling, the myth of entrusting orphans to Yongan, the political issues of the Sun-Liu alliance, and Zhuge Liang's strategic review of the Northern Expedition. In addition to being more refined in writing, the revised edition also makes supplementary analysis of details such as the Li Yan case and Jiang Wei's plan to restore the country.
★Media Recommendation
The writing is beautiful and makes one forget to read it. At the same time, it is written by a professional historian and does not contain the common problems of fiction, exaggeration, and over-interpretation that are common in popular history books. - Zhang Fan, Professor of History Department, Peking University
Justice and sentiment are ultimately a very important force in human history. Take the history of the Three Kingdoms, which we are familiar with, for example. Let us return to the historical scene with Mr. Rao Shengwen's "The Han Empire in Bashu". - Luo Zhenyu, founder of the Get App
