Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
🌌 John Gribbin, a world-renowned physicist, winner of the British Science Writers Association's "Lifetime Achievement Award", and a bestseller 30 years after his book "Searching for Schrödinger's Cat", has published a new popular science masterpiece
🌌Praised by Giles Sparrow, a popular science writer for Physics World and BBC's Looking Up at the Night Sky
🌌Open this book to appreciate a series of amazing astrophysical wonders and explore the mysteries of the moon, the infinite universe, and the common ancestor of complex life on Earth.

Following the popular "Searching for Schrödinger's Cat" and "Profound Simplicity", John Gribbin draws readers' attention to some seemingly impossible but amazing wonders of astrophysics. For example:
“Only when the sun and the moon appear to be the same size in the sky can the creatures on Earth see the wonder of a total solar eclipse, and this wonderful coincidence happened neither too early nor too late, at the moment when human civilization appeared.
"The water rotates in the bucket and rises along the bucket wall to form a concave liquid surface because it 'feels' the gravitational force of everything in the distant galaxy and universe.
"The common ancestor of all complex life on Earth is a single-celled organism. However, without the stabilizing effect of the moon, primitive organisms would not have been able to evolve into life forms like humans."
This will be a fantastic scientific journey that subverts our cognition. As Physics World said: "Gribbin skillfully connects the dots to reveal a bigger picture that is more amazing than the sum of its parts."
