Haruki Murakami (1949- ) is a famous Japanese writer. He is from Kyoto Prefecture. He graduated from the Faculty of Literature of Waseda University. In 1979, he won the Gunzo Newcomer Literature Award for his debut novel "Hear the Wind Sing". His major works include "Norwegian Wood", "The End of the World and Hard-boiled Wonderland", "Dance! Dance! Dance!", "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle", "Kafka on the Shore", "After Dark", etc. His works have been translated into more than 30 countries.
