The fourth part of "A Close Look at America" is "Like a Comet Passing Through the Night Sky", which is still expressed in the form of letters. The book is mainly divided into two parts: First, by recording a series of stories that took place before and after the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, it sorts out the basic process of American constitutional democracy from its source, development to relative maturity and practice. Following the process of the Constitutional Convention, the author tells step by step and introduces the thoughts on the ideological soil, historical opportunities, and basic concepts of the institutional design in the American Constitution; describing the political wisdom of early American thinkers and politicians in the face of various different ideological viewpoints, following the rules of the game, and showing in confrontation and compromise. At the same time, it also analyzes the worrying issues and historical limitations in the American constitutional system.
