This book is compiled from the author's lecture notes at the National School of Development at Peking University. The book is problem-oriented and systematically introduces macroeconomic theory, and also provides a complete framework for understanding the operation of China's economy. China's economic structural imbalance, the subprime mortgage crisis, the European debt crisis, China's debt problems, China's financial chaos and other vivid economic phenomena are deeply explained under a unified framework.
This book is an intermediate macroeconomics textbook, divided into 24 lectures, each corresponding to a class, including chapters such as "Understanding the Chinese Economy through GDP", "Supply-side Decomposition of China's Economic Growth", "Determination of Consumption and Savings in the Economy", and "China's Underconsumption". It includes both macroeconomics theory and China's actual economic problems.
This book introduces equilibrium macroeconomics at a level that undergraduates can accept. It can be seamlessly connected with the content of advanced macroeconomics, so it is a convenient way for students to enter modern macroeconomics. This book also closely follows China's economic practice and provides explanations for important practical issues, which can help practitioners form a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the Chinese economy.
