Boris Leonidovich Pasternak (1890-1960) is one of the greatest Russian poets and writers of the 20th century. He experienced the Silver Age, the October Revolution and the Soviet Thaw. In his early years, he was famous for his profound, implicit and metaphorical poetry. In 1958, he won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his "great achievements in the traditional fields of modern lyric poetry and great Russian novels." His representative works include the poetry collections "Gemini in the Clouds" and "Life - My Sisters", the autobiographical essay "Safety Certificate" and the novel "Doctor Zhivago".
Liu Wenfei is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Capital Normal University, chief expert at the Beijing Slavic Research Center, director of the Beijing branch of the Pushkin House of Russia, president of the Chinese Society for the Study of Russian Literature, a judge of the National Social Science Fund, a judge of the Lu Xun Literary Award, an editorial board member of magazines such as "World Literature", "Foreign Literature", "Yilin", "Russian Literature and Art", and "Foreign Language Studies", and a Fulbright scholar at Yale University in the United States. He has translated works by Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Brodsky, Pelevin and others. He is the winner of the Russian Academician Likhachev Award, the "Reading Russia" Translation Award, the "Lermontov Prize", and the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation.
