Lu Yao (1949-1992) was born in Qingjian, Shaanxi. He entered the Chinese Department of Yan'an University in 1973. After graduating from university in 1976, he worked as an editor in Shaanxi Literature and Art and Yanhe Magazine. He began to publish his works in 1978. He wrote the novel Ordinary World, the novellas A Thrilling Scene and Life, etc. He was once the vice chairman of the Shaanxi Writers Association.
